Today's Friday Five over at RevGalBlogPals is to list five things that lift you when you are feeling in need of an emotional or spiritual lifting up. Here are my five things --
1. A Scripture -- I love the wisdom of Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 --
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
a time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
a time to seek, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to throw away;
a time to tear, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
a time to love, and a time to hate;
a time for war, and a time for peace.
2. People -Well that's easy! Where would I ever be without my girlfriends????? Those gal pals who make me laugh, and cry, and occasionally even pee my pants! I have never laughed so hard and so long in the company of a bunch of men.
3. A piece of music... What could be a better pick me up than the Alien version of "I Will Survive!"
If you haven't seen/heard it, you simply have to check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFqDY-CTfwA&feature=fvst
4. A place: The cottage of course -- who can resist this view:
| View from the front deck. |
| View from the swimming rocks. |
5. Something I do: This is probably the hardest thing -- but I think my favorite and best answer is I love to cuddle my cat! There's nothing sweeter and more calming than stroking the soft fur of a purring cat. (or our bunny is a pretty good stand-in!)
Wishing everybody an uplifting weekend!!!!!!
